After claiming the number one seed in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with its 76-64 victory over James Madison on Saturday, the men’s basketball team will defend its CAA title this weekend at the CAA Championship Tournament at the Richmond Coliseum. The Patriots (18-10 overall, 12-4 CAA during the regular season) tip off tomorrow at noon against the winner of tonight’s American/East Carolina matchup.
If George Mason is victorious in the opening round, it will compete on Sunday against the UNC Wilmington/Virginia Commonwealth winner at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast at 8:30 p.m. on HTS. On Monday, the two remaining teams in the tournament will battle it out on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m. The winner will go on to the NCAA Championship Tournament, where 64 teams will vie to win the national championship.
The George Mason ticket office is selling complete eight-session ticket packages for $50. Individual game tickets are only available at the Coliseum, and range from $7.50 to $15. For more ticket information, call x33270 or visit the CAA website.
