Retreat Offered as Part of Annual Sojourner Truth Lecture Series

African and African American Studies, Women and Gender Studies and the Higher Education Program will present “The Kitchen Table: Stirring the Pot — Deconstructing Identity, Sexuality and Queerness” as part of the 2010 Sojourner Truth Lecture Series.

The free, one-day retreat will be held on Sunday, March 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. in Mason Hall, Room D3, on the Fairfax Campus.

Participants will explore the characteristics assigned to women by modern-day society and deconstruct these stereotypes through group discussions, personal reflection and artistic expression.

To participate, sign up in the African and African American Studies Office, Johnson Center, Room 240A, or the Women and Gender Studies Office, Johnson Center, Room 240K.
