Mason is going head-to-head with Virginia Commonwealth University to see who has the biggest fan base. As Virginia’s largest universities and Colonial Athletic Association rivals, Mason and VCU are hosting a Facebook Face-Off to see which school can get the most new fans on the popular social networking site.
The competition tipped off on Jan. 19 and runs until noon today, Feb. 9, 2010. The school with the most new fans when the buzzer sounds will be announced at halftime during the VCU and Mason men’s basketball game (the game starts at 7 p.m.).
[Athletics has announced the game is on, no matter what the weather.]
In addition, when you become a fan of Mason—or if you already are—you can enter to win four premium seats at the Homecoming game on Feb. 20. To enter for free Homecoming tickets, follow these easy steps:
1. Become a fan of George Mason University at www.facebook.com/georgemason.
2. Write on our wall the answer to this question: What is your favorite George Mason University tradition?
All fans of Mason who write their answer to that question on our wall between Jan. 19 at noon and Feb. 9 at noon will be entered in a random drawing to win the tickets. The winner will be notified via Facebook by Feb. 15.
