Homecoming is rapidly approaching, and it’s time for Mason offices to get serious about entering the annual office decorating competition or participating in Mason Homecoming’s first-ever parade.

This year’s theme for the events, Unmasque Your Spirit, reflects the festive character of New Orleans and Mardi Gras.

Office decorating competition entries must be received by Wednesday, Feb. 10. Judging will take place on Monday, Feb. 15, and winners will be announced on Feb. 16.

Categories are offices consisting of 10 or more people, and offices consisting of fewer than 10 people. Two prizes will be awarded in each category: one for best team effort and one for best overall design. Criteria are listed below.

Best Team Effort

  • Getting all staff members involved in the decorating process
  • Every staff member’s area is decorated in some manner (i.e., door decorations, cubicle decorations, etc.)
  • Creativity/interactive

Best Overall Design

  • Exhibits school spirit
  • Incorporates theme
  • Creativity/interactive

To participate in the parade, which begins at 5 p.m. on Feb. 20, entry forms must be received by Friday, Feb. 12. Entries can be a float, marching group, performance ensemble or “other.”

See the Homecoming web site for entry forms and more details on the office decorating competition or the parade.
