IT&E Celebrates National Engineers Week

The School of Information Technology and Engineering (IT&E) kicks off National Engineers Week this week by sponsoring a meeting between Lloyd Griffiths, dean of IT&E, and Bernard White, associate dean of undergraduate studies at IT&E, and several student leaders of IT&E student organizations. They are discussing the needs of IT&E students.

In addition, the Engineering Student Council invites George Mason students to attend Tech Connections, a four-day event at which George Mason students have the opportunity to meet with representatives from some of the top IT companies in the region, including Booz-Allen and Hamilton, TRW, and SAIC. Tech Connections is held in the main lobby of Science & Tech II from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21, through Thursday, Feb. 24. Refreshments are served. The following schedule indicates which day representatives from each participating company are on campus.

  • Monday: Booz-Allen and Hamilton, LCC

  • Tuesday: TRW, Lockheed Martin

  • Wednesday: SAIC

  • Thursday: Olympus Group, Bell Atlantic

IT&E concludes National Engineers Week on Friday with the opening reception for the ACM/SIGGRAPH Traveling Art Show from 5 to 7 p.m. in Science & Tech II, Room 100.
