invite_cspace_fullsheet_smallThe School of Art will hold a grand opening and reception for its ContainerSpace Gallery, a converted shipping container, on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The container is located behind the new Art and Design Building on the Fairfax Campus.

Seniors Tommy Nutt and Daniel Dean have mounted their senior thesis exhibition in the gallery.

Dubbed “an experimental mobile gallery,” ContainerSpace “challenges the traditional gallery model with sustainability, mobility and access,” according to its web site.

The project is supported by Mason’s Office of Sustainability, the School of Art, Blue Army Handyman and the Center for Advanced Applications.

All are invited.
