The Mason Spirit, the magazine for the George Mason University community, experienced a bit of a web facelift recently. In addition to a blog, the web site now also boasts web-exclusive stories.
Be sure to check the web site often for updated content in between the fall and spring issues of the Spirit. Learn about how:
- In 1984, Mason Men’s Volleyball Team was responsible for the university’s first NCAA Final Four appearance. Twenty-five years later, the champs returned to campus for a reunion weekend. Spirit managing editor Colleen Kearney Rich tags along for the ride.
- The bright lights of Broadway are beckoning Vincent Oppido, BA Music ’08 and current Mason graduate student in music composition. He recently collaborated with Broadway singer Brian Stokes Mitchell on an arrangement that was performed at the ARTS, By George! festival.
- Mason’s first annual Alumni Weekend was Oct. 2–4. Check out our online slideshow of all the fun, whether you want to relive it or see what you missed the first time around. And mark your calendar for next year’s Alumni Weekend, slated for Oct. 1–3, 2010.
- Featured in an alumni profile in the fall issue of the Spirit, we couldn’t get enough of Alan Plevy and Jason Smolen. Read more about the duo and their globe-trotting travels.
