Faculty and staff members will get a chance to relax and enjoy themselves at the end of the semester.
The annual holiday party will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall. All faculty and staff members at Mason are invited.
This year, the party will have a holiday theme, according to organizer Tamara Day, student events manager in Events Management. This is the third year in a row that Day has been the lead organizer for the holiday party.
“This reception is held to show appreciation to faculty and staff for all their hard work,” Day says. “The party will be an opportunity for them to socialize and relax.”
Sodexo will cater a variety of different food items, including holiday dishes made with ingredients such as cranberry and cinnamon.
The party will feature a karaoke machine and a Nintendo Wii. Additionally, the dance contest, which was held for the first time in this setting last year, will make its return.
“We’re trying to make it a tradition,” Day says. “Last year, it was very competitive.”
