Mason Currents Honored

GMU-TV’s talk show, Mason Currents, has been awarded an honorable mention for its show highlighting George Mason University’s equity study conducted by Ann Palkovich. The award comes from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT).

For 25 years, AWRT has been a leader in electronic media honoring programming that is by women, for women, or about women. AWRT’s Gracie Allen Awards strive to encourage the positive and realistic portrayal of women in entertainment, commercials, news, features, and other programs.

The episode honored included representatives from the American Association of University Women, and featured public service announcements for the association’s Blueprints for the Future workshops. Mason Currents is directed by GMU-TV’s production manager, Sandy Taylor, and is hosted by Star Muir and Susan Kehoe. The public service announcements were produced by Cynthia Lont, Communication, and Kehoe.
