Johnson Center Cinema Spring Movie Series Begins this Week

The Center Film Club has announced the Johnson Center Cinema movie schedule for the first half of spring semester. All screenings in the cinema are 35mm with Dolby Sound and free popcorn, and are free to students.



Screening times for the following movies are Thursdays at 6 and 9 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and midnight.



  • Feb 10 to 12: Beloved. An adaptation of Toni Morrison’s novel, starring Oprah Winfrey.


  • Feb 17 to 19: The Insider. Al Pacino plays a CBS producer who battles the nicotine lobby.


  • Feb 24 to 26: The Best Man. Taye Diggs and Nia Long star in this comedy about upper-class African-Americans.


  • March 2 to 4: Being John Malkovich. A group of feckless types figure out a way to enter John Malkovich’s mind and charge people for the privilege.


  • March 9 to 11: Dogma. An in-your-face riff on contemporary religion starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.



Ticket prices are $5 for the general public, and $3 for faculty and staff members.
