Aquatic Center Offers Swim Lessons, Aerobics Classes

The Aquatic and Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus offers group swim lessons for all ages, infants through adults, and all levels of ability. Held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, the cost for eight lessons is $39 for center members and $49 for nonmembers. Register now for the next session, which begins on Jan. 31. The center offers adult springboard diving lessons in a group program instructed by George Mason head dive coach Roland McDonald. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Aquaerobics, an invigorating water aerobics class guaranteed to raise your heart rate, is an ongoing monthly class. The cost per month is $40 for center members and $50 for nonmembers. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This semester, aerobics classes move to the Aquatic and Fitness Center. To participate, faculty, staff, and students may purchase a semester pass or a 10-punch pass, or pay a daily drop-in fee. In addition, a new yoga class, held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., focuses on the techniques of Kundalini Yoga, relaxation, and meditation. Yoga classes start on Feb. 2.
