The High Impact Squad, billed as the “World’s Most Dynamic Sports Heroes,” will perform at halftime at the Old Dominion-George Mason men’s basketball game tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Patriot Center.
The High Impact Squad combines incredible acrobatic stunts with basketball’s slam-dunk to create what is now called “Acro-Dunking.” Featuring a team of highly skilled athletes, the High Impact Squad has performed its electrifying Acro-Dunk show around the world, including major events like the NBA All-Star Jam Session and the 1996 Paralympic Games. The group has become one of the hottest shows on the basketball halftime circuit as a result of performing its patented high-energy routine at NBA, CBA, and WNBA league games as well as at college games across the country.
The game features the finalists of last season’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship. George Mason, 7-7 overall and 2-2 in the CAA, is led by 6-7 junior forward George Evans, who leads the CAA in scoring (19.4) and in rebounding (9.1). Old Dominion (6-10, 1-4) features 6-8 senior center Skipper Youngblood as its top player. Youngblood averages 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds. For tickets, call x33270.
