Intercollegiate Athletics Presented Mason Jar Challenge Trophy; Challenge to Continue

The Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs held a thank-you breakfast for Mason’s faculty and staff donors on Sept. 17 to show appreciation for their efforts in the Mason Jar Challenge. At the event, Intercollegiate Athletics was presented the Mason Jar Challenge trophy, which is awarded to the university administrative or academic unit with the highest percentage of donors in fiscal year 2009.
According to the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs, Athletics had 75 percent participation by their staff members.

A total of 648 faculty and staff members donated to Mason during the year, marking a record-breaking year for faculty and staff giving.
The trophy challenge continues into fiscal year 2010, so units can think about winning next time.
