The Scoop on Flu Shots

The following is from the Human Resources and Payroll web site:
For faculty and staff members who are enrolled in COVA Care, COVA HDHP and Kaiser Permanente, free seasonal flu shots are part of your wellness benefit.
When available, H1N1 (swine flu) shots will also be covered under the wellness and preventive care benefit of COVA Care and Kaiser Permanente. H1N1 shots are not yet available.
Free Seasonal Flu Shots
- Free flu shots will be available until the end of flu season at specific participating COVA Care and COVA HDHP plan chain and independent retail pharmacies. Details on participating pharmacies are available on the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management web site.
- Kaiser plan members have access to free flu shots at their doctor’s office and at participating medical centers, including some drive-through clinics. COVA Care and COVA HDHP members may receive free flu shots in their doctor’s office covered under the medical routine wellness benefit.
- Flu shot clinics will be set up at the Arlington, Fairfax and Prince William Campuses for COVA Care and COVA HDHP participants. Dates, times and locations are posted on the HR web site.
Low-Cost Seasonal Flu Shots
- Additionally, faculty and staff members may get a seasonal flu shot for $20 through Student Health Services (students pay $15). Dates and times are available at shs.gmu.edu.
