Yesterday the Faculty Senate voted unanimously in support of a proposal to create a School for Computational Sciences by combining the Institute for Computational Sciences and Informatics with the Institute for Biosciences, Bioinformatics, and Biotechnology. Thirty-seven of George Mason’s 50 faculty senators were present at the meeting. Creation of the school requires the approval of the Board of Visitors, and the board is expected to vote on the proposal at its meeting in mid January.
