DoIT/TOPS will offer MS Office 2007 Comprehensive Courses to faculty and staff at the Fairfax Campus in the fall.

In addition to gaining a thorough knowledge of MS Office 2007 software, participants will be prepared to take the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification exam.

DoIT/TOPS will offer three out of the four applications ― Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word ― that are most requested. Depending on the application, the courses will start in September and end in December. Classes will meet one day a week for three hours, for a total of 15 to 20 workshops.

A fee of $200 covers all training materials and manuals. For an added $75 fee you can take the certification exam.

Learning Support Services is also offering a Photoshop CS4 comprehensive course, as a pilot program.  If you are a photographer, designer, multimedia author, webmaster or print technician, this course may be for you.

Participants will learn the art of image editing in more than 50 hours of professional training. At the end of the course, participants are expected to be fully capable of creating professional-looking images.

This course will start in September 2009 and will meet one day a week for three hours and will end in December, for a total of 15 classes.

A fee of $200 covers all training materials and manuals.

Those interested in either opportunity should contact Marlys Shoup, Learning Support Services training manager, at 703-993-3371 or mshoup@gmu.edu. For the MS Office training, specify which application you would be most interested in learning.
