The Office of the Provost and the Faculty Senate sponsor a faculty hearing and forum tomorrow to discuss the proposed creation of a School of Computational Sciences from the merger of the Institute for Computational Sciences and Informatics (CSI) and the Institute for Biosciences, Bioinformatics, and Biotechnology (IB3). The forum is held at 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center Multipurpose Room.
According to the draft proposal, the mission of the school would be to “provide quality graduate education, research, and development, emphasizing the central role of computational methodologies in the biological, physical, mathematical, and data sciences.” Copies of the draft proposal are available at the Johnson Center Information Desk.
