As another spring semester comes to an end, Mason is preparing for local youth to fill the Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William Campuses as they participate in the more than 90 camps offered this summer.
Beginning in late June, a variety of academic assistance programs, enrichment programs, and recreational and sports camps will take place throughout the Mason campuses. Camps are targeted to ages 2 to 19 and cover a variety of interests, ranging from dance to dinosaurs and from scrapbooking to paintball.
One example is the Creative Cuisine Cooking Camp, which allows the hungry camper to prepare age-appropriate recipes.
For the future television star, the Mason Cable Network’s Television Camp gives campers the opportunity to learn how to act in front of the camera and gain an understanding of the technical aspects behind the camera.
The “green” camper will enjoy the Get Your Hands Dirty Environmental Camp. Through hands-on environmental education programs, interactive lessons and dynamic outdoor activities, this camp promotes the understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
The Pee Wee Sports Mix Camp is perfect for the active young camper, as it encompasses the basics of basketball, soccer, T-ball, floor hockey, football and more.
The cost and duration of each camp or program varies. For more information, see the summer camps web site.
