At its final meeting of the academic year, the Faculty Senate voted to approve minor changes in the teacher/course evaluation form used at the end of each semester and elected a new chair, Peter Pober, professor of communication and director of the Forensics Team.
The new Faculty Senate chair takes office immediately.
The senate also voted its approval on a new faculty retirement transition leave policy and received annual reports from senate standing committees, university standing committees and senate ad hoc committees.
The new policy and reports are available on the Faculty Senate web site.
The changes to the teacher/course evaluation form were offered by a Faculty Senate task force in response to student and faculty input. The changes are outlined online and will be implemented for the 2009-10 academic year.
The Effective Teaching Committee will now consider conversion to an online evaluation form as well as investigate the feasibility of providing customized forms for different kinds of classes.
