Internationally acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns with the final concert of this season’s trademark series, Keyboard Conversations, at Mason’s Center for the Arts on Sunday, April 19, at 7 p.m.
In this “concert with commentary” performance, “Musical Pictures,” Siegel will share inspiring sights in glorious sound. The program includes two of Rachmaninoff’s ultra-romantic “Etudes Tableaux,” one turbulent, the other darkly expressive; Debussy’s impressionistic “Voiles” and the luminous, shadowy colors of “Fireworks”; and Mussorgsky’s celebrated “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
This year marks Siegel’s 16th at Mason and the 39th anniversary of Keyboard Conversations.
A free young artists musicale will be held at 6 p.m. in the Concert Hall lobby. Talented piano students in grades 3-12 and winners of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association Honors Recitals will perform short pieces.
Jordan Kitt’s Music returns as the sponsor for Keyboard Conversations.
Tickets are $38, $30 and $19; tickets for children 12 and under are half price. Charge by phone at 888-945-2468 or visit tickets.com.
