The Office of the Provost will hold a forum on Project LEAP — Liberal Education and America’s Promise — on Monday, April 6, from 3 to 4:20 p.m. in Research I, Room 163, on the Fairfax Campus.
LEAP, an initiative from the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU), is designed to promote the value of a liberal or general education.
Led by Rick Davis, associate provost for undergraduate education, the forum will introduce some of Project LEAP’s findings and recommendations based on research conducted by AACU.
Among the topics considered will be LEAP’s “essential learning outcomes” and “principles of excellence” along with a set of high-impact educational practices.
The forum is envisioned as the beginning of a discussion about effective integration of the general education program with the undergraduate majors in a unified effort to advance the excellence of a Mason education.
