On Tuesday, March 10, the Mercatus Center at George Mason University launched, a web site that takes Virginia’s Stimulus.Virginia.Gov project to the next level.

On Feb.10, commonwealth government officials asked residents to submit potential project ideas that might benefit from federal stimulus funds to the Stimulus.Virginia.Gov web site. The site was open until March 6. More than 9,000 proposals were received at the site.

Mercatus’ new web site lets the public rate these project proposals to help inform the governor’s decision as he and his staff begin identifying projects that may qualify for funding.

The site applies some of the ideas and research developed at Mercatus about how transparency can improve public policy decisions.

The site is best viewed in the Firefox browser.
