As the Mason men’s basketball team heads to Richmond for the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament, they leave behind a record-setting season.
In their last game against Towson, the team completed the school’s first unbeaten regular season at Patriot Center, and at the same time, clinched the second seed in the tournament.
The Patriots (20-9, 13-5) are 14-0 at home, and they ran their current home winning streak to 16 games, one shy of the school’s Division I record. For just the second time in school history, Mason has won 20 games in back-to-back seasons.
In their first game of the tournament on Saturday, March 7, at 6 p.m., the Patriots will face the winner of Friday’s contest between seventh-seeded James Madison and 10th-seeded William and Mary.
If Mason wins their first game in the tournament, they will next play on Sunday, March 8, at 5:30 p.m.; the championship game will be played on Monday, March 9, at 7 p.m.
