Mason’s Part-Time MBA Program in the School of Management (SOM) ranks high among universities in the mid-Atlantic region, according to BusinessWeek.
The magazine’s 2009 list of “Top Part-Time MBA” programs includes 200 universities. The top 30 are ranked, the next 20 are designated “second tier” and the remaining 150 programs are unranked.
In the BusinessWeek list, after the top 30 programs, the remaining programs are distributed into six U.S. regions and five international regions.
The Mason Part-Time MBA Program was one of four programs designated as second tier in the mid-Atlantic region, accompanying Virginia Tech, the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia.
“The Mason MBA Program has attracted growing recognition for the caliber of its teaching and the depth of its curriculum,” says Angel Burgos, director of MBA and MSA programs in SOM.
“Mason students have strong local ties to the Northern Virginia area, but the education they receive has a strong international flavor, with each student participating in an intensive residency abroad.”
The rankings are based on the surveys of administrators and students at colleges and universities around the world. The selection criteria consisted of three elements — the student survey, goals measure and academic quality.
