Mason Ads, Magazine Win Awards

Two projects largely produced by University Relations staff members have received awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Awards Program.

In the category of Paid Advertisement Series, Mason won a Special Merit Award for its “Think. Learn. Succeed.” campaign.

Individuals involved in the concept, design and production of the ad series, which ran in many national publications, were Christine LaPaille, vice president for University Relations; and Creative Services staff members Rick Custer, director; Sarah Seeberg, art director; Colleen Kearney Rich, editorial director; Joan Dall’Acqua, senior designer; and Evan Cantwell, senior photographer.

The newly designed and revamped Mason Spirit magazine, a joint project of University Relations and the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs, also won a CASE Special Merit Award in the category of Magazine Publishing Improvement.

Staff members involved with the redesign were Rich; Seeberg; Dall’Acqua; Cantwell; Leah Kerkman Fogarty, senior writer; Lynn Burke, writer/editor; Debra Ranson, graphic artist; Ginny Cathcart, photo collection manager; Nicolas Tan, photographer; Brian Edlinski, production manager; and Corey Jenkins Schaut, development communications director.
