Business Alliance Announces Spring Calendar of Events

Spring 2009 is a busy time for the Business Alliance of George Mason University, a business-university partnership that builds relationships and stimulates the exchange of ideas.
Following is an outline of some of its many events for early spring.
- Tuesday, Jan. 27, Nothing But Net-Working
Food, Fun and Basketball
5:15 to 7 p.m., Networking reception at Damon’s; 7 p.m., Mason men’s basketball in the Patriot Center
Treat your colleagues, friends and family to a fun evening of networking and basketball. Meet new business contacts and recruiting personnel from Mason and local firms. Then, enjoy championship-level basketball as the Patriots face the University of Delaware Blue Hens. Hosted with George Mason University Career Services.
- Thursday, Feb. 5, George Mason University School of Management Business Fest
6 to 9 p.m., Business Alliance members and friends are invited to this event hosted by George Mason University School of Management’s Career Services Office.
- Monday, Feb. 9, Deadline to Apply to Present Business Investment Opportunity at March 19 Business Alliance Grubstake Breakfast
For companies seeking $250,000 to $2 million in investment capital.
- Thursday, Feb. 26, Sixth Annual Boot Camp for Growing Companies and Entrepreneurs
Starting/Growing Your Company in a Volatile Economy
7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., McLean Hilton, Tysons Corner, Va.
Take part in a full day of networking and information on starting or growing a company in today’s challenging economy. Boot camp features hands-on, practical advice and market insight by leading CXOs. Topics include financing, sales and marketing, managing growth, protecting your investment portfolio, valuation for new and tenured firms, market opportunities in cyber security, IT and new media, energy/clean technologies and more.
