Mason Is ‘Continuing the Dream’ with Events Honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

Mason’s Office of Diversity Programs and Services (ODPS) has planned several events next week with the theme “Determined: Continuing the Dream” to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Students and members of the faculty, staff and public are encouraged to participate in the events, which take place on the Fairfax Campus.

  • MLK Oratorical Contest Finals, Tuesday, Jan. 27; 3 to 4 p.m., Johnson Center, Dewberry Hall.

  • Read-In (open discussion), Wednesday, Jan. 28; 11 a.m., Johnson Center, Paul Robeson Room. Facilitated by Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution professor Richard Rubenstein.

  • Evening of Reflection, Wednesday, Jan. 28; 5 p.m., Johnson Center, Dewberry Hall. Keynote speaker is Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
