Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich will be featured at the School of Management’s inaugural Johnson & Strachan Distinguished Speaker Series on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts on the Fairfax Campus.
Gingrich will provide his perspective on how U.S. government regulations contributed to the decline on Wall Street and in the housing market. Moreover, he will share his opinion as to how the next administration should lead the nation through this economic and global financial turmoil.
Made possible by a generous gift from School of Management alumnus and president of Johnson & Strachan, Jeff Johnson, the Distinguished Speaker Series will bring a diverse group of corporate leaders, government officials and renowned academicians to Mason’s Fairfax Campus over the next three years.
Focusing on public policy issues, these exceptional speakers will discuss the strategic and operational issues critical to the nation’s ability to sustain and enhance its competitive edge in a global economy. Their ideas and solutions will benefit students, faculty and the community by offering insight and fostering provocative discussion.
The event is free and open to the public but tickets are required. They can be reserved online.
