Senior forward Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after an outstanding week in which the Bowie, Md., native scored a game-winning goal and assisted on two scores to help lead the Patriots to two crucial conference victories.
On Oct. 29, the Patriots snapped Drexel’s seven-match unbeaten streak with a 2-0 shutout. Adjeman-Pamboe assisted on both goals in the win.
In the final home match of the regular season on Nov. 1, Mason snapped first-place UNCW’s five-match winning streak on the strength of Adjeman-Pamboe’s game-winning goal in the 52nd minute of action.
Adjeman-Pamboe has been on a roll recently, scoring three goals and tallying two assists in the past three matches, all Patriot wins. He leads the team in goals (4) and points (12) this season and is tied for the team lead in assists (4).
With last week’s victories, Mason has vaulted itself into a three-way tie for third place in the conference standings. The top six teams in the CAA at the conclusion of the regular season all advance to the CAA Men’s Soccer Championship, slated to begin on Tues., Nov. 11, with the quarterfinal round.
Mason finishes its 2008 regular season schedule with a road match against second-place Old Dominion on Friday, Nov. 7, in Norfolk.
