Business Alliance Hosts Mid-Atlantic Innovation Showcase

The Business Alliance of George Mason University will co-host the Mid-Atlantic Innovation Showcase on Friday, Nov. 14, at the McLean Hilton in Tysons Corner, Va.
The event features exhibits, faculty inventors’ research presentations, and panel discussions with chief executive officers, venture experts and academic leaders who will share their strategies for successful commercialization of university and federal lab research.
The program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
Among the featured speakers are Mason’s own Emanuel Petricoin III, codirector of the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine; and Arun Sood, professor of computer science.
In addition to Petricoin and Sood, other Mason scientists exhibiting their research include Lance Liotta and Alessandra Luchini, Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine; Barney Bishop, Chemistry and Biochemistry; Sushil Jajodia, Steven Noel, Pramod Kalapa and Angelos Stavrou, Center for Secure Information Systems; Daniel Cohen, Center for History and New Media; Dan Cox and Eswar Iyer (graduate student), Molecular and Microbiology; Khalid Moidu, College of Health and Human Services; Duminda Wijesekera, Computer Science; Ken Hintz, Electrical and Computer Engineering; Barry Kronenfeld, Allan Falconer and Jennifer Maloney, Geography and Geoinformation Sciences; Maria Kozhevnikov, Psychology; and Rao Mulpuri, Electrical and Computer Engineering.
In addition, Aneesh Chopra, secretary of technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, will address regional innovation in his welcoming remarks.
