Three Mason undergraduates will participate this summer in the 2008 College Leaders Program of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia.
The students are Ronald D’Agostino, government and international politics major; Anna Godlewski, integrative studies major; and Dale Warfield, government and international politics major.
The Mason students are among about 25 students selected. This program offers an advanced curriculum on public service and leadership for promising student leaders in Virginia. Competition to participate in the program is particularly intense.
“This is an historic year for our College Leaders Programs. We have never before received so many applications with this number of outstanding young leaders. This will be a fantastic class, and we are very much looking forward to getting started,” said Marc Johnson, director of Sorensen’s Youth Programs.
The program will run from May 31 to June 28. Participants will live and study on the grounds of the University of Virginia.
In 2007, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recognized the Sorensen Institute’s College Leaders Programs as among the very best in the nation and a national model for giving young people the skills and motivation to become politically engaged in their communities.
