Mason has been redesignated by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education for academic years 2008-13. Mason has also received a new NSA designation, a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research.
Mason is among the first recipients of this new designation.
These achievements reflect the quality of the work of the Center for Secure Information Systems, directed by Sushil Jajodia, and of the faculty in the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering who participate in research and educational programs in information security and assurance.
A ceremony recognizing this achievement will be held at an awards dinner on Wednesday, June 4, during the annual conference of the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education at the University of Texas, Dallas.
