University Life, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente and Aetna Student Health, is sponsoring the 12th Annual Health and Fitness Expo on the Fairfax and Prince William Campuses.

The expo runs in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall on the Fairfax Campus from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 27. On the Prince William Campus, it runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Bull Run Hall Atrium.

Some of the activities scheduled to take place at Fairfax include a rock climbing wall, healthy cooking demonstrations and blood donor opportunities. Attendees can also cheer for their favorite teams in the Mason Top Chef cook-off or take a short power walk with three-time Olympian power walker Debbi Spino.

New to the expo this year are a Nintendo Wii setup for attendees to test their athletic skills, as well as an opportunity to adopt a pet from the Washington Humane Society.

Osteoporosis consultant Donna Landis will be available to discuss the eating habits of college students and their effects on lifestyles and health.

More than 75 exhibitors will be on hand at information booths, including the City of Fairfax Fire Department, the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation, Great Harvest Bread Company and the Arthritis Nightshade Research Foundation. Representatives from the Lions Club will also be on hand to collect eyeglasses for charity.

At both campuses, health care providers will offer various health screening opportunities including blood pressure, osteoporosis, nutritional analysis and counseling, vision and hearing, dental and skin assessment.
