All offices and buildings on the Mason campuses will close for the winter holidays beginning at close of business on Friday, Dec. 21, through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008.
University administrative offices reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2. The Mason Gazette will not publish during the winter holiday and will resume on Jan. 2. Spring semester classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Faculty and staff who need access to a locked building during the winter holiday period will need to contact University Police.
To gain access to any of the buildings during the times when they are closed, you must have card-swipe access. If you use your card to access a building, you must contact Campus Police to let them know that you are in the building. This is for your safety. Police can be reached at 703-993-8070 or 3-8070 from a campus phone.
All academic and administrative buildings (with a few exceptions) will be locked throughout this period. The access control system will be programmed to secure these buildings, and they will be patrolled by University Police throughout the holiday break.
Faculty and staff needing access to a locked building must call University Police at 703-993-2810. An officer will be dispatched to meet at the building entrance. The staff member must display a Mason ID and have the room key for interior offices. Police officers will not be authorized to grant access to interior offices or work spaces.
