Board of Visitors Approves New Degrees

At its meeting on Wednesday, the George Mason University Board of Visitors (BOV), the university’s governing board, approved nine new degrees.

All but one are advanced degrees. The programs must now be approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

The new degrees are

  • BS in Tourism and Events Management (College of Education and Human Development)
  • MS in Applied Information Technology (The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering)
  • MS in Educational Psychology (College of Education and Human Development)
  • MS in Global Health (College of Health and Human Services)
  • Doctor of Musical Art (College of Visual and Performing Arts)
  • PhD in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering (The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering)
  • PhD in Music Education (College of Visual and Performing Arts)
  • PhD in Physics (College of Science)
  • PhD in Systems Engineering and Operations Research (The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering)
