“Giving Hope” is the theme for the 2007 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). The annual workplace giving campaign for state workers supports a wide range of community programs and nonprofit organizations through tax-deductible donations.
The 2007 campaign will be conducted through Wednesday, Dec. 19. The CVC gives all state employees the opportunity to contribute to many agencies that provide services throughout the area. Donations may be made through the convenience of payroll deductions, cash, check, or credit card payments and gift stock. New this year is the option to make a donation online via EmployeeDirect, a user-friendly and safe way to donate. The directory of charities can also be found online.
In an e-mail urging participation in the CVC sent to all employees last week, Mason President Alan Merten noted, “…We all have much to be thankful for. Within the next few weeks, each of us will have an opportunity not only to give thanks, but to give back, and give hope, making our community a better place to live and work.”
