On Friday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m., Mason’s Theater of the First Amendment (TFA) and the George Mason University Jazz Ensemble will join forces to bring the City of Fairfax a holiday blend of theater and music in “Have Yourselves a Jazzy Little Christmas.”

As part of TFA’s First Friday series at the Old Town Hall, the evening will feature “holiday noir” stories, read by TFA’s Kevin Murray, Mary Lechter and friends. The stories will be interspersed with Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” as arranged by Duke Ellington and interpreted by the 18-piece Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Jim Carroll.

Billed as TFA’s holiday gift to the community, the event is free and open to the public, and is followed by a holiday reception. Old Town Hall is located at 3999 University Drive, Fairfax, Va. For more information, visit the TFA web site and click on upcoming events, or call 703-993-2195.

TFA and Jim Carroll’s Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra will join forces again in the June 2008 Mason Festival of the Arts. Visit the festival web site for more details.
