As part of the university’s reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, it is obligated to set strategic goals that guide university planning.
For the past six months, a group of faculty and administrators appointed by Provost Peter Stearns has conducted a review of the strengths and weaknesses of the university and has identified a set of proposed goal statements for the 2011-12 site visit.
The members of this Strategic Planning Committee will hold an open campus forum on Thursday, Dec. 6, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mason Hall Meese Conference Room. The
forum is being held so the committee can receive feedback on the goals and identify a few from the current list that the campus community believes are the most important for guiding university planning.
The draft goal statements can be downloaded online. If you cannot attend the meeting, you can give the committee your comments at this site. Committee chair Gary Galluzzo can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-993-2567.
