Family Weekend Essay Contest Winners Announced

Junior Joe Hinrichs, a government and international politics major from Triangle, Va., was the first-place winner of the Family Weekend Essay Contest sponsored by the Office of Orientation and Family Programs and Services (OFPS).

His essay, “Blue Skies,” reflects on the influence of his family members and shares the lessons he has learned from them.

Caitlin Hoffen, the second-place winner, is a freshman with an undeclared major; and Joary Casey, the third-place winner, is a sophomore majoring in integrated studies.
