![]() The Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center at the Prince William Campus was host for testing SEAPerch (Sea Search and Rescue) remotely operated vehicles in a pilot program that included local high school teachers from Prince William County. The teachers will be trained, in conjunction with the Office of Naval Research and the Society for Naval Architects and Engineers, to construct the vehicles. They, in turn, will teach the high school students how to build and operate the vehicles as part of their math and technical curriculum. Mason's Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering plans to cosponsor a robotics competition next spring on the Fairfax Campus to promote engineering careers to the high school students.
