Mason men’s regular season basketball games will be broadcast on television a record 22 times during the 2007-08 season.

The Patriots composite television schedule includes games on the ESPN package, the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and selected games as part of the Colonial Athletic Association’s (CAA) Comcast/CN8 package.

The Patriots are scheduled to appear on ESPN2 twice. The first appearance will be against Kansas State at the Old Spice Classic on Thanksgiving night. The second will be against Virginia Commonwealth University, a CAA opponent that Mason lost to in the 2007 CAA Championship game, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008. A total of seven games will air on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. Potentially, an eighth game will be broadcast as part of ESPN Bracketbuster weekend on Feb. 23.

MASN will broadcast Mason games for the second season. The Patriots season opener against Vermont at the Patriot Center will be the first of eight games MASN will cover. The regional sports network is the official broadcast partner of the BB&T Classic and will air the game against East Carolina. Fans will be able to watch four of the Patriots away contests in the CAA on MASN, including games at Delaware, James Madison, UNC Wilmington and Towson. MASN will air the final home game and senior day against William and Mary on Feb. 27.

The Green and Gold have seven CAA games slated for broadcast on Comcast SportsNet or CN8. Comcast SportsNet will air the CAA opener for the Patriots against Drexel at home on Nov. 29. Both home and away contests with Northeastern and Old Dominion will be scheduled on Comcast SportsNet or CN8 as well as the home contest against rival James Madison on Feb. 2.

Last season, Mason had a record 21 regular season games on television and its three games in the CAA Championship were broadcast, for a combined total of 24 games on television.
