Veteran Actor Robert Prosky to Appear at Mason

The George Mason University Libraries and the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) are proud to announce “An Evening with Robert Prosky” on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Harris Theater on the Fairfax Campus.
As the featured speaker at this free event, Prosky will share many personal and professional experiences from his dynamic acting career that began more than 50 years ago.
Prosky and the CVPA will also showcase the Robert Prosky Collection, a donation he made last spring to the George Mason University Libraries Special Collections and Archives consisting of documents highlighting his career.
Prosky’s film credits include “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “The Natural” and “Rudy.” Highlights from his Broadway appearances include “Glengarry Glen Ross,” “A Walk in the Woods” and “A View From the Bridge.” His television credits include three years on “Hill Street Blues” and appearances in shows such as “ER,” “The Practice” and “Cheers.”
Prosky is well known in the Washington, D.C., area through his long association with Arena Stage.
Materials on display at the event will include playbills, photos, scripts, articles, reviews, fan letters, personal correspondence and a scrapbook.
Prosky has received and been nominated for many awards. He has received the American Express Tribute to an American Actor, Helen Hayes Award, an Emmy, and the Drama Desk Award amongst others. In addition, he was nominated for two Tony Awards and a Helen Hayes Award.
