A look at campus safety and the workings of the university’s crisis/emergency team will be outlined at George Mason’s upcoming fall convocation, set for Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall.
“Celebrating the Present, Preparing for the Future” is the title of this event, which is open to the campus community and invited guests.
Another highlight of the convocation will be the recognition of two significant anniversaries in Mason’s history: the 50th anniversary marking when Mason was first created as a satellite campus of the University of Virginia and the 35th anniversary marking when the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia declared Mason an independent university.
President Alan Merten will oversee this annual event and be available to address questions on other issues as well.
Refreshments will be provided outside Dewberry Hall at the conclusion of the convocation.
