Mason Hosts Japanese Drumming Performance

A Japanese musical group called AUN will present a traditional Japanese taiko drumming performance at Harris Theater on the Fairfax Campus on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Sponsors are Mason’s Department of Modern and Classical Languages and the Center for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, as well as the Center for Professional Exchange in Washington, D.C.
AUN (pronounced “ah woon”) is an up-and-coming Japanese group of musicians that mixes taiko drums and such Japanese traditional instruments as shamisen (three-string guitar) and shinobue (bamboo flute) along with a modern keyboard. More information about AUN can be found at this web site.
