Following are members of the George Mason community who made presentations in July and August as part of Mason Speakers — the university’s speakers’ bureau.

July 11—Richard Rubenstein, Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, presented “Aristotle’s Children” to the Alexandria Optimist Club.
July 19—Jim Larranaga, men’s basketball coach, gave an inspirational talk to the boys of the Tenley Achievement Program in Washington, D.C.
July 25—Doris Bitler, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, spoke at the Madison Senior Center in Arlington, Va., on “Blue Moon and Green Cheese.”
Aug. 13—Doris Bitler, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, spoke at the Braddock Glen Adult Day Health Center on “Orchids for Everyone.”
Aug. 15—Doris Bitler, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, spoke to the senior citizens at the Madison Senior Center, Arlington, Va., on “Wise Women and Cunning Men.”
Aug. 21—Alan Merten, Mason president, spoke to the Fairfax County Public Schools school counselors on “Teamwork, the Way We Do It at Mason.”
Aug. 27—Tom Moncure, university counsel, spoke to the Fairfax Rotary on “Who Is that Lady?”
Aug. 28—Andrew Carle, director of the Program in Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration, spoke to the Burke Rotary on “Nanatechnology.”
Aug. 29—Jim Larranaga, men’s basketball coach, spoke to the Fairfax County Public Schools elementary school counselors on teamwork.
