University Life will host the annual Diversity Scholarship Golf Classic on Monday, June 11, at South Riding Golfer’s Club in South Riding, Va.
The Golf Classic is a fund-raiser for Mason’s Student Transition and Empowerment Program (STEP) and is sponsored by Triumph Technology Inc.
All are welcome to participate. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The awards luncheon is at 1:30 p.m.
STEP is an ongoing initiative that targets first-year students to enhance recruitment, satisfaction and retention of an intentionally diverse group of students. Scholarship recipients are often first-generation college students who are given a jumpstart to their academic work at Mason during the summer with academic preparation, career exploration, cultural awareness, service-learning projects and empowerment education.
