Mason Shuttles provide free service to Mason students and employees, a transportation alternative that could save money this summer as the temperature and gas prices are on the rise.
The Prince William shuttle provides service between the Fairfax and Prince William Campuses Monday through Friday. A new stop has also been added at the Manassas Mall.
Mason recently instituted its very own Mason-to-Metro shuttle, running from the Fairfax Campus directly to the Vienna Metro Station and back every 30 minutes.
During the summer, the Mason-to-Metro Shuttle begins service at 6:15 a.m., with one shuttle starting at the Vienna Metro Station and a second shuttle starting at the Sandy Creek Shuttle Stop on the Fairfax Campus. The last runs of the morning leave the Metro Station and Sandy Creek at 9:45 a.m. Shuttle service resumes at 3:15 p.m. in each location, continuing on with stops every 30 minutes. The last shuttle departs each location at 11:45 p.m. (Monday through Thursday), with extended service on Fridays (12:45 a.m. is the last stop).
For more information, go to the shuttle web site, or call Anne Whitley, transportation coordinator, at 703-993-9530 for information.
