Anderson Named to All-CAA First Team, All-Rookie Team

George Mason freshman Becky Anderson earned two Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) honors for her efforts during the 2007 softball campaign as she was named to the All-CAA First Team, as well as the conference all-rookie squad.
Anderson, who represented Mason as a utility player on both of these teams, played in 50 games this season and ended the year with a .239 batting average. The Virginia native tallied team-highs in RBI (25), as well as home runs (4). Anderson also connected on a team fourth-best 34 hits, which included two doubles and one triple.
In the circle, Anderson finished the year with a 9-15 record, including a 4-8 mark in CAA play. She garnered an overall ERA of 3.60 after pitching a total of just over 145 innings. On the year, Anderson appeared in 33 games as the pitcher, started 16 of those contests and ended the year with a team-high 10 complete games. In addition, Anderson collected one save on the year.
Anderson is no stranger to CAA honors as the rookie earned two prior to the end of the season awards. First, she was named CAA Rookie of the Week on April 30. The following week, Anderson was named CAA Co-Player of the Week.
The Patriots closed out the 2007 campaign with a 19-34 overall record and a 5-16 mark in conference play.
