Best-Selling Author McCall Smith to Visit Campus

Novelist Alexander McCall Smith, author of the internationally acclaimed “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” series, will appear in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m.

He will give a talk titled “The Very Small Things of Life,” which includes a discussion about writing, creativity, Africa and the life of a writer. He will also take questions.

In addition to the popular series, McCall Smith has written more than 50 books, including academic titles, short story collections and children’s books.

This free program is sponsored by Mason and the Fairfax County Public Library Foundation. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Smith’s books will be available for sale and signing after the event.
