The best high school scientists in Virginia will display their research on Saturday, April 7, as George Mason hosts the 22nd annual Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.
Exhibits will be open to the public from 2 to 4 p.m. in Dewberry Hall of the Johnson Center. Hundreds of projects will be on display representing 14 scientific and engineering disciplines, including behavioral and social sciences, computer science and zoology.
An awards ceremony will follow from 5 to 6 p.m. First and second place winners from the regional science fairs will compete for the right to represent Virginia at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Albuquerque, N.M. in May.
Each year, scientific, mathematical and engineering societies, corporations and government agencies sponsor numerous special awards. For more information, contact Rick Diecchio, fair director.
